Meet The Chef
Chef David Hurst has more than 30 years of culinary experience in Northeast Florida. He is the founder and owner of Salt and Fire Catering, a full-service catering and special event company based in Jacksonville Beach. He specializes in creating menus completely customized to his clients vision and needs.
David is a champion of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. And his seasonal menus feature everything from cioppino and grilled Caesar salad, with hearty portions of fresh, local seafood, to braised chicken with artichoke basil white wine sauce and beef tenderloin pizzaiola.
David began his career working at some of the beaches most iconic restaurants - Crustaceans, Ward’s Landing and Ragtime among them. In 1995, he founded The Market at North Shore, a gourmet food store in Atlantic Beach, Florida, and started catering and cooking for private clients through the shop.
In 2007, David started providing catering and private-client chef services under the name "david a culinary experience.” And 12 years later, he founded Salt and Fire Catering to share his passion for creating unique culinary experiences with the greater Jacksonville area.
David is a lifelong beaches resident who serves his Northeast Florida community with great passion and looks forward to working with you.
